Magnetization Direction of Permanent Magnets

Magnet Orientation

The above outline shows typical magnetization patterns. We also provide custom magnetization. Please note that radial magnetization or multi-poles on Rare Earth magnets is not available because they require extremely high magnetizing fields. Radial magnetization can be achieved with segments magnetized through the thickness and stocked in a circle or closed loop with alternate polarities.

Helpful notes: Axial magnetization is in the same direction that the magnet was oriented or pressed during its process, this could be expressed as: Magnetized through the thickness or axially magnetized.

Radial magnetization is with one polarity on the inside of the ring magnet and an opposite polarity on the outside of the ring or arc segments. This form of magnetization is mostly used for ring or arc segment magnets.
